Averi Edwards grew up around the pool industry and swimming on weekends at the lake or her grandparents’ pool, eventually joining the swim team. Her father, Steve Edwards, started a service company before she was even in elementary school that offers service, remodeling and building. Averi Edwards gave college a try after high school but struggled to find something she was passionate about.

“That led to several years of working jobs that I hated,” Edwards says. But in 2014, her father offered her a job with Edwards Pool Construction. “I accepted and started at the bottom of the ladder,” she says. “I serviced pools and did minor repairs for three years until I began to gain confidence in my acquired knowledge. My job turned into my passion, and I began to take on more responsibilities, always hungry to learn more until I reached the position I am in today.”

Edwards now runs the company’s service department, splitting her time between the office and the field, and assisting with construction department operations.

“I got to where I am now with the help of so many people in the industry,” Edwards says. “I am lucky to have had and still have great mentors and teachers along the way. I hope to continue to grow my knowledge, and expand my relationships in the pool industry. I still feel like a rookie sometimes — there is always more to learn, and I want to absorb it all and pass knowledge to another generation of pool professionals.”
