Cody Williams
Cody Williams, 27
Cody Williams served as a sales and finance manager at a local Ducati dealership, but a chance encounter with a customer — a pool industry veteran — set him on a new path. Williams decided to transition from selling motorcycles to building pools.
His pool career began humbly, “knowing next-to-nothing about pools except that they were fun to swim in,” as Williams puts it, so he started learning the ropes while working for a pool builder. However, it wasn’t long before he expanded his expertise to include renovations and service. His determination to master the field gave him a deeper understanding of pool care, treatment and maintenance, but his dedication to doing things the right way is what set him apart. The desire for more autonomy and control led Williams to start Nautical 7 Pools.
During this time, he faced personal challenges as well, with his fiancée battling cancer. The need to provide for her treatment fueled him to excel in the pool industry and to provide top-notch service and repair.
Williams’ favorite aspect of the industry is the opportunity to work outdoors, basking in the warm Las Vegas sun. “I’m a bit of a desert rat, and my comfort zone is a minimum of about 90 degrees,” he says. “Aside from that, I enjoy being able to have 60+ offices a week and being able to handle things on my terms.”
Nautical 7 Pools reflects Williams’ dedication to quality and his desire to cater to the luxury end of pool service and repair. He firmly believes in the long-term viability of the industry, particularly in service and repair, given the consistent demand for these services.
Williams envisions a more regulated pool industry, emphasizing proper chemical handling, equipment installation and plumbing. His ambition is to raise industry standards, mirroring those of professions like HVAC and electricians, to foster a more professional and reliable industry.
