With a degree in economics and mathematics, Kevin Barry worked corporate jobs in the financial sector for four years before finding himself in the swimming pool industry.
“I just fell into the industry,” Barry says. “I needed a change.”
He started at a sports club, first as a pool technician and quickly became the Certified Pool Operator for the entire facility. A local swim team recruited him to manage its facility; Barry also spent several months at a residential pool service company. “All of the experiences gave me the confidence to start a service company,” Barry says. In 2014, he started Summit Swimming Pools, which services, renovates, designs and builds swimming pools and spas.
Barry hopes to continue to see his company grow. It has doubled year over year in its first five years.
