GENESIS, a PHTA company that provides industry education, announced Paul John Boulifard has been promoted to design faculty chair. Boulifard, an architect and LEED AP, has been serving as the GENESIS architecture faculty adviser for the past year.

Boulifard holds a bachelor of environmental design in architecture from the North Carolina State University College of Design and a master of architecture from the Yale University School of Architecture. He has served as an adjunct professor at several institutions, including Wesleyan University, Connecticut College, Drury University and Watkins College of Art.

Throughout his tenure as a GENESIS instructor, Boulifard has taught a wide range of courses on topics such as architectural styles, elements of design and how to integrate a pool with the surrounding landscape design.

“GENESIS has a well-earned reputation in the pool and hot tub industry as the leading provider of design education,” Boulifard says. “I am excited to collaborate with GENESIS instructors and students to expand our amazing curriculum.”

As the design faculty chair, Boulifard will be responsible for writing the curriculum for new GENESIS design courses, updating existing content and bringing real-life design experience to the classroom. He will work closely with engineering faculty chair Terry Brannon to ensure the GENESIS education program continues to elevate and inspire pool builders and designers.
