Mackenzie Klahr, 31

During the pandemic, many people began looking at life differently. For Mackenzie Klahr — who spent three years as a marketer in the construction industry and was a television news reporter before that — this introspection resulted in a career change.
“I began working in the pool industry for Haviland Enterprises, Inc. at the start of the pandemic,” she explains. “Saying this still makes me hold my breath. It was my first job in chemical manufacturing. Talk about a crazy time to navigate and learn.”
As the marketing manager for Haviland, Klahr’s favorite thing about her job is the people.
“The people are amazing,” she says. “Whether I’m in the field, in the office or at a show, pool people are the best. If there is one thing I hope for our industry, it’s that people continue to be kind and support one another.”
With all the connections she has made, Klahr isn’t leaving the industry anytime soon.
“My No. 1 goal is to be continuously learning and collaborating with individuals who are passionate about delivering the best product and service possible,” she says.
