With New Software, Nidec’s Neptune Pool Motors Communicate with the Major Pool Control Systems
The Neptune variable-speed line of motors from Nidec/U.S. MOTORS will be available in spring 2025 with software that communicates with the major pool and spa control systems, eliminating the need to carry inventory from multiple manufacturers. Pool and spa service professionals can view demonstrations of how the new software integrates the Neptune motor to pool controls at the NESPA Pool & Spa Show, booth #2455.
In addition to the software demonstration, visitors to the booth can view a time clock connectivity demonstration, showing how Neptune motors can work with customers’ existing time clocks and select automation for worry-free operation.
The motor line also meets new Department of Energy regulations that take effect in September 2025, for all new and replacement pool pump motors.
Featured at the show this year is the new, patented Neptune Hybrid which features two motors: a high-efficiency brushless permanent magnet motor integrated with a control and a standard PSC induction motor. The BPM is capable of variable speed levels from 600 to 2,760 RPMs, ideal for circulating the water in residential pools. At 3,450 RPMs, the PSC motor activates, providing the extra power needed for vacuuming the pool.
The Hybrid is a lower-cost, lower-power motor offering significant energy savings for homeowners and meeting the DOE’s proposed efficiency regulations.
Booth visitors can also learn about the new Neptune 3.45, designed for large residential pools and featuring a powerful variable-speed motor with integrated controls for energy efficiency and easy operation. As with the entire Neptune line, this new motor will integrate with many new or existing pumps, bringing variable-speed capabilities to the pump and meeting DOE efficiency requirements.
