PHTA offers CPO class online

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance offers an online Certified Pool Operator program, which allows pool professionals to safely receive certification from the comfort of their home or office.

“After the onset of the pandemic, PHTA was able to quickly adapt and transition our CPO certification program online,” says PHTA president and CEO, Sabeena Hickman. “Since pivoting to an online program, we have trained and tested candidates in all 50 states, Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and countries across the globe.”

The CPO certification program is the world’s leading education and certification program for keeping pools safe and open. CPO certification provides individuals with the knowledge, techniques and skills required for proper pool operations. This course is approved by IACET and is eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The PHTA CPO certification course has seen a steady 85% passing rate for online testing. The association has administered over 8,500 tests (as of November 2020) via online proctoring through CPO instructors and remote proctoring to satisfy stipulations in specific states.
