In July, Atlantic City became home to one of the largest, beachfront, indoor waterparks in the world. Known as The Island Waterpark at the Showboat Resort, the 120,000 square-foot facility includes 11 waterslides, 6 bars and a 6,500-foot lazy river. At the entrance, Rico Rock designed and built the cast concrete rock water feature that welcomes all waterpark visitors.

“We aren’t normally the builders on this type of project,” says Bruce Riley, owner of Rico Rock. “But in this case, we ended up being very involved as a joint venture with American Pond company in New Jersey, who has been a Rico Rock dealer for more than 20 years.”

Riley explains that Rico Rock builders took the lead on the project because of the job’s complexity.

In addition to the water feature, Rico Rock was also asked to create several rock walls that flank the lazy river and other parts of the resort’s interior.
