Step Into Swim Growing/Receiving Major Donations
The National Swimming Pool Foundation’s Step Into Swim campaign, which encourages disadvantaged children to learn how to swim by offering swim lessons across the country, has raised $65,790 in 2017. Bolstered by a $40,000 donation by Master Pools Guild, other donors include:
The American Chemistry Council (ACC) donated $5,000.
NSPF board member Anita Sayed, Ph.D. donated $5,000, and has now contributed more than $20,000 to the campaign.
The National Plasterers Council contributed $5,000.
The Bill Kent Family Foundation donated $5,000.
Donald Sussman, American financier and philanthropist donated $2,500.
Genesis 3 co-founder Skip Phillips’ Questar Pools donated $1,000.
“How often does $1 do three great things: prevent drowning, create more swimmers and increase demand for water-based activity?” asks Thomas Lachocki, CEO of NSPF. “When we open our wallet to fund swim lessons, we open the door to brighter futures.”
