Tracy Lingo - 2024 30 Under 40

Tracy Lingo’s fascination with the underwater world began long before she stepped into the pool industry. In 2013, she joined Hammerhead International, a company renowned for its underwater window installations.

“It was an eye-opening experience, diving into this niche yet impactful field,” she says. “We helped create breathtaking underwater viewing spaces, fostering a deeper connection with the aquatic world.”

However, when Hammerhead International ceased operations in 2018, it marked both an end and a new beginning for Lingo. She took her wealth of experience to Aquatic Glazing International, a company that was just beginning to make waves. Lingo played a crucial role in setting up AGI and applying the skills she had honed in the underwater window field.

“It’s more than just a job; it’s about being part of something special,” she says. “Witnessing the wonder people experience when gazing through an underwater window is truly inspiring. Imagine a child peering through a window and seeing a fish for the first time — that sense of awe motivates me.”

What keeps Lingo engaged is the blend of technical and creative challenges, she says. Underwater windows are more than just functional components; they are design features that enhance the aesthetic appeal of pools. Ensuring these windows are structurally sound while seamlessly integrating them into the pool environment demands both technical precision and a flair for design.

This evolving field offers a promising career path, with opportunities for learning and development.

“As pool design becomes more sophisticated, the demand for unique features like underwater windows is expected to grow,” Lingo says.

In her pursuit of innovation, Lingo aims to break down barriers and make underwater windows more accessible. She envisions developing new materials and integrating eco-friendly practices, as well as making this technology more affordable for a broader audience. Her goal is to enhance the visibility and appeal of underwater windows, ensuring they become a standard feature in pool design rather than a luxury.

“Ultimately, my dreams for the future are about using my skills and passion to elevate the underwater window industry, making it more innovative, sustainable and accessible to everyone,” she says.
