What Sets IPSSA Apart from Other Pool Associations?

Recently IPSSA conducted a survey among its 2,700 members strong to find out what member benefit ranks the highest. IPSSA’s Sick Route Coverage Plan.

IPSSA’s Sick Route Coverage Plan helps protect members from losing valuable weekly service accounts and revenue, in the event of a qualifying personal injury or illness. Members will band together to provide emergency coverage of all or a portion of your service route, helping to maintain the route and protect your livelihood. This coverage is (by necessity) limited in scope and is intended to be used as a safety net in the event of legitimate illness, injury or emergency. So, for a few dollars’ worth of chemicals plus a small amount of Bowere, you have the most inexpensive income protection plan found anywhere.

An example of how Sick Route Coverage works: First you must join an IPSSA chapter. After six months, if you get injured, sick or need a medical procedure, your chapter members will divide your pool route among the group and will service all your pools while you are recovering at no charge to you. On that same note, if one of your chapter members gets injured or sick, you are required to service their pools in return. If you are thinking “Why would I let strangers service my pools?” the answer is easy! All IPSSA members maintain liability insurance and have to pass the IPSSA water chemistry exam or approved certification program. In addition, they receive continuous education through their monthly meeting where guest speakers discuss various aspects of the pool service business, via virtual or in person. Each year, many IPSSA members attend the various tradeshows where they can learn the latest technical, business and educational seminars offered.

“It is the assurance of knowing that if I get sick or injured, I don’t have to stress about paying my bills,” says IPSSA national president Todd Starner, Region 11 Director, Florida and Georgia,  “because I know my route will be covered by my fellow members.”

Michael Denham, IPSSA Region 5 Director, Southern California, never thought he would need to use IPSSA Sick Route Coverage, but after a motorcycle accident, Mike was unable to service his route. His Orange County, California, chapter members stepped in and serviced his route the entire time he was out.

If you want to be part of an organization that will protect you from income loss, IPSSA is a great match.
